Anouska Milstein Interiors by acronym is the French word for friend, and this is what we call ourselves as a practice – "ami". We are known for our deeply intuitive, human approach: translating feeling, memory, and rhythm into interior spaces. I was born in Milan and raised in Naarm/Melbourne, and my travel-rich upbringing is reflected in the aesthetic diversity of our work. Our designs balance sophistication with personality, intelligence with emotion, and comfort with surprise. The spaces we create invite life in, not keep it out - celebrating warmth, imperfection, and a touch of la dolce vita.
Design is a dialogue between people, space, and life itself. My major design tools are curiosity and empathy, and our skillset as a practice is reading what is unspoken, pushing the edges of comfort in ways that delight and surprise.
Past clients return to us not only for our aesthetic, but knowing our ability to distil who they are into their environment. But importantly, they return as friends - because our ethos is trust, care, enjoyment and laughter.The Studio

We take on a limited number of projects each year to ensure depth, care, and attention. We believe great design requires presence, not pace.
We work slowly and intentionally - fewer projects, deeper relationships, higher quality outcomes.
